Since you ask this I would say yes..I can hardly imagine it...

But with a half answer right
I'll settle for one drumstick ;)

I would say yes, or you probably wouldnt ask such a daft question. I dread to think what happened to the person throwing it though - mobbed probably.

The answer is yes. Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, probably about 15 years ago.

The gory details: In the middle of the show a guy came right up to the stage and heaved a fairly large meatloaf at the band. It bounced once or twice, and broke into a bunch of smaller pieces at Kasim's feet.

Three things I remember about the meatloaf itself:

1. It was piping hot when it hit the stage, so when it broke it emitted a cloud of steam that you could see from the audience.

2. It was greasy, so it made the stage pretty slippery in the spot where it landed. The crew cleaned it up as best they could, and fortunately, nobody slipped.

3. It had a lot of garlic in it. After the show John complained that the band could smell the damn thing straight through to the encore.

Unless John has another incident in mind, I reckon this is the one he's talking about.

You have the story almost exact but Kasim was not in the band yet, and when it was heaved at us I thought it was hores crap until I could smell the Meat Loaf.

You also neglect to tell that I had 3 gigs that day and had a friend named Dean who was to drive me to my next gig after the Meat show, so that I could rest, who got so lost on the way that I was really late to play with the Good Rats that night. :)

You know, John, some parts of that story are best left untold.
